About

Sarah Carson at work at Montestigliano in Tuscany, Italy.

Dallas-based photographer Sarah Carson has produced a large body of work in both Black/White and Color. She also has a collection of Black/White images that have been over-painted with oil. Carson’s photographs range from Texas Rodeo and Red Canyonlands to New York Cityscapes, to English Castles, to an Italian Horse Race, to the marvel of Petra, and to Eastern Europe when it was still part of the Soviet Union. Carson photographs Chairs and Trees as singular photograph-ical subjects, and throughout all of her work finds a special connection to people.

Exhibitions of Carson’s images have been mounted in Boston, New York, Miami, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Santa Fe, and Budapest, Hungary. Her work is published in Exhibitions books, and books featuring special interests. From 1994-2012, Carson conducted photography workshops every spring and autumn at a large farm-estate, Montestigliano, six miles south of Siena, Tuscany and each year’s workshop participants had their Italian work shown in exhibition in a Dallas gallery or art center.
